As a Procurement Officer, you will be at the center of the organization’s sourcing and supply chain processes. Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Officer in the banking sector, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Procurement Strategy Development:
    Design and implement procurement strategies that align with the bank’s objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation:
    Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers who can provide quality goods and services at competitive prices. Conduct thorough supplier due diligence to mitigate risks.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management:
    Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, compliance with service-level agreements, and long-term value. Manage supplier contracts from initiation to renewal.
  • Market Analysis:
    Stay updated on market trends, industry regulations, and economic conditions that may impact procurement activities. Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Collaborate with internal departments—including finance, risk, operations, and compliance—to ensure procurement needs are understood and met. Provide guidance to stakeholders on supplier selection and procurement best practices.
  • Compliance Management:
    Ensure all procurement processes comply with internal policies, banking regulations, and industry standards. Maintain transparency and accountability in supplier dealings.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, supplier performance, and turnaround times. Provide regular reports to management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
    Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting related to procurement activities. Provide insights into expenditure trends and potential risks.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
    • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) will be a strong advantage.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar procurement/supply chain role.
    • Experience working in the banking sector or financial services is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Core Competencies:
