This position offers a consistent and vital contribution to the daily operations of a thriving enterprise. As a Cleaner at Dis-Chem, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities designed to maintain the highest levels of dischem cleanliness and public health. Key duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing floors.
- Dusting and wiping down surfaces, including shelves, counters, display units, and office furniture.
- Sanitizing high-touch areas regularly (door handles, light switches, payment terminals, railings).
- Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, ensuring all facilities are stocked with essentials.
- Emptying waste bins and managing waste segregation for recycling where applicable.
- Cleaning internal glass surfaces and mirrors to a streak-free finish.
- Reporting any maintenance issues or significant damages observed during cleaning rounds.
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and notifying supervisors when reordering is necessary.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning chemicals.
- Responding to spillages or urgent dischen cleaning requirements promptly and efficiently.
This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining a spotless environment.
