Introduction:
The SPAR Group, a leading name in the South African retail landscape, proudly announces the launch of its highly anticipated YES4Youth 2026 program. This yes4youth initiative stands as a testament to SPAR SA’s unwavering commitment to fostering youth empowerment and contributing meaningfully to the nation’s economic growth. Since its inception in 2019, SPAR has consistently demonstrated its dedication to providing tangible opportunities for young South Africans, a commitment that has garnered widespread acclaim, including commendation from the President himself. The Head of State has lauded SPAR not only for its pivotal role in generating vital employment opportunities for the youth but also for its broader positive impact on environmental sustainability and societal well-being.
About Us:
As we embark on the 6th consecutive year of this impactful program, SPAR yes4youth extends a compelling invitation to ambitious and driven young individuals across South Africa to become an integral part of its YES for Youth journey. This is a unique chance to gain invaluable work experience, develop crucial skills, and embark on a fulfilling career path with a respected and responsible corporate citizen.
Requirements:
To be considered for this yes4youth transformative opportunity, prospective candidates must meet a set of essential criteria. Applicants must be South African citizens, reflecting the program’s focus on national development. Age-wise, candidates should fall within the 18 to 28 bracket. A fundamental requirement is that applicants must currently be unemployed and not engaged in full-time academic studies, ensuring the program reaches those who can most benefit from its career-building potential. Furthermore, a successful completion of Matric (Grade 12) is mandatory, providing a foundational educational benchmark. To maintain the integrity and safety of its workforce and program participants, SPAR, in partnership with Catalyx, will conduct thorough criminal record checks, requiring applicants to have a clear record.
While the aforementioned criteria are essential, SPAR yes4youth recognizes and values diverse educational backgrounds. Therefore, candidates possessing a university degree or an FET Technical Trade qualification will find their applications viewed favorably, as these qualifications demonstrate a commitment to further education and specialized skills. This inclusive approach ensures that a broad spectrum of talented individuals can contribute to and benefit from the program.
Application Process:
To facilitate the application process, interested individuals will be required to upload several key documents. These include a comprehensive resume detailing their academic and any prior work experience, a valid South African Identification Document (ID) for verification purposes, and copies of all relevant certificates, particularly their Matric certificate and any higher education qualifications. These documents are crucial for assessing eligibility and suitability for the program.
The YES4Youth 2026 program is slated to officially commence on April 1, 2026. Prior to this, successful applicants will undergo a carefully structured selection and onboarding process. Those shortlisted will be invited to participate in the renowned JumpStart training program, an intensive and highly beneficial initiative designed to equip participants with essential workplace readiness skills. This will be followed by a valuable week of practical work experience within a SPAR environment, providing a real-world insight into the retail industry and the specific roles available. The final stage of the selection process will involve a comprehensive interview, offering candidates the opportunity to showcase their personality, aspirations, and suitability for the program.
It is of paramount importance to reiterate a crucial aspect of this program: neither Catalyx, SPAR, Build It, nor YES will ever request any financial payment or fees at any stage of the application or participation process. This initiative is entirely free for all eligible candidates, reinforcing SPAR’s commitment to accessibility and removing financial barriers to opportunity. We urge all applicants to be vigilant against any fraudulent requests for money, as these are not associated with the legitimate YES4Youth program. Join SPAR in shaping a brighter future for South Africa’s youth and contribute to a legacy of growth and opportunity.
