MULTI PURPOSE ROOMS ASSISTANT

Special Requirements

·Ethekwini Municipality Multipurpose Room Assistant job can be switched with the Cold Store Assistant job.

· Must be able to work with dangerous chemicals like Ammonia and Ethylene gas.

· 40 hours per week, 6 days a week

Physical Needs:

· Able to work in a cold space (5 degrees Celsius).

· Must be in good physical shape.

This Ethekwini Municipality job reports to the COLD STORE SUPERVISOR

Main Duties

· Puts produce into and takes produce out of the cold store, counting it and signing papers with market staff and others.

Checks the amount of goods and the produce quality before they go into storage.

Looks for machine problems and tells the Supervisor about them.

Takes bad produce to the trash.

Handles paperwork and keeps records.

Assigns storage rooms to agents and others.

Cleans the cold storage area.

Fills in for the Supervisor when needed.
