Overview:
This Shop role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our retail outlet. The shop successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while diligently managing key store functions, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and loss prevention. Shop will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of our product offerings and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of store cleanliness and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service and Store Operations: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing shop customer inquiries, resolving issues, and creating a positive shopping experience. Handle both opening and closing duties, ensuring the store is prepared for business or secured at the end of the day.
- Inventory Management and Restocking: Accurately restock shelves with products, ensuring proper product placement and adherence to merchandising standards. Remove outdated or damaged items promptly. Maintain accurate stock records through meticulous counting and documentation. Proactively identify and address any discrepancies in inventory levels.
- Product Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of all products sold in the store, including their features, benefits, and pricing. Stay updated on new product arrivals and promotional offers. Be able to effectively communicate product information to customers.
- Adherence to Store Rules and Procedures: Ensure strict adherence to all store policies and procedures.
- Food Delivery Management: Oversee the receiving and handling of food deliveries, ensuring proper storage and quality control in accordance with food safety regulations. Utilize shop reports to identify and address any issues related to food quality or handling.
- Store Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including regular shop cleaning of shelves, floors, and customer areas. Thoroughly clean and sanitize refrigerators and other food storage units.
- Loss Prevention: Implement and enforce loss prevention strategies to minimize shrinkage and theft.
- Reporting Suspicious Activity: Immediately report any suspected instances of theft, fraud, or suspicious activity to the store manager or the designated hotline.
- Stock and Loss Management: Proactively manage stock levels and implement strategies to minimize stock losses due to damage, spoilage, or theft.
- Red Flag Process (Early Mornings): Understand and utilize the “red flag process” during early morning hours to identify and address potential security risks.
- Security Searches: Conduct proper security searches of employees as required by store policy.
- Store Security: Never leave the shop unattended, ensuring constant vigilance to prevent unauthorized access or criminal activity.
- Employee Management: Supervise and manage a small team of employees, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure that all team members are adhering to store policies and procedures. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Planning and Organization:
- End-of-Day Task Management: Identify, prioritize, and organize all tasks required to be completed at the end of the day, ensuring the store is properly prepared for closure or the next business day.
- Task Follow-Up: Effectively follow up on all tasks assigned to staff members working at the end of the day, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer skills.
